You are invited to bid on this lovely vintage abstract studio glass freeform bowl, possibly made by Mstisov, one of the Sklo Union glassmakers in Czechoslovakia, in approximately the 1950s. It is made of thick heavy clear glass with patches of pink, blue and greenaround the top surface. It is freeform in shape with a wavy rim with three little folded peaks of glass round the rim, and is very tactile. There is a polished pontil mark to the base. I believe the bowl was designed by Frantisek Zemek and comes from the Rhapsody range. The bowl measures 2.5" deep by 5" across. tall. It is in great condition with no cracks or chips - and marks on the photos are from reflections, not damage to the bowl. There is minor scuffing the base commensurate with its age. It bears no maker's marks but I believe it to be Mstisov, although I can't be sure. A beautiful piece of abstract Bohemian studio glass. Over the next few weeks, I will be listing more of my collection of antique and vintage glass pieces, so please keep an eye on my other auctions.
