A very pretty powder compact with compartment for slim cigarettes, measuring approx 4" x 2.5" x 1" deep. Decorated with sprays of flowers on the lid, sides and inside. Mostly made from plastic, this one plays a very jaunty version of Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head, from the 1969 film Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. This is a much-collected Japanese compact that features in Miller's Powder Compacts, p.71. The compact is in fairly good condition but has a couple of problems; firstly the little push-button to open the compact is missing, although it opens easily without it and snaps shut securely. Then there are some indentations on the lid (in the white background surrounding the flowers), caused by the plastic not being protected from a second item posted to me at the same time. This is a shame but not too apparent until the compact catches the light, however I want to be sure anybody interested is aware of it. The music plays fine and stops when the lid is closed. The internal lid to the powder compartment has a perfect mirror, there are no signs of the compact ever being used to hold powder or cigarettes. There is no damage apart from that mentioned, because of those problems I'm starting this at a low price. It's a very pretty compact and quite chunky, so that it stands easily without support.
