Vintage DAVART Neoclassical Lenox Lamp

I am currently downsizing some of my personal collections - although I am sure that once I have cleared out all the nooks & crannies of my home, I'll just determine I have enough room to go buy more stuff! - such is the never ending collectors circle :) This auction is for: DAVART NEOCLASSICAL ART DECO TABLE LAMPDESCRIPTION: After searching around the internet, I was able to find that this elegant and stylish lamp was made by the Davart company, which was a prominent New York City lamp manufacturer (their hardware and bases can be found paired up with weller, roseville, tiffany and other well known quality manufacturers). It was made in the 1930's with the porcelain commissioned from Lenox, Frank Holmes, a well known Lenox designer, is supposed to have worked with Davart on the design of this lamp. The style is neoclassical Art Deco. The porcelain urn is coral pink in color with a white leaf motif pattern on the urn. The handles and base are also white. The metal base is stamped with the Davart triangle mark. It measures 22 inches in height, plus 2 more inches for the finial, 5 1/2 inches in width and the base is 4 square inches. Davart Lenox lamps, such as this one, were sold in the upscale department stores on Fifth Avenue, such as Bergdorf Goodman, Sakes Fifth Avenue and Ovington Brothers.CONDITION The condition of the lamp is excellent. The porcelin has a wonderful smooth & shiney surface with no damage at all. The top metal portion looks like the finial was screwed down to tight and added additional creasing to w the metal was shaped for a shade. This lamp should be rewired.I usually ship on Saturday, shipping carrier will be USPS priority or parcel post (your choice). No handling fees added - INSURANCE IS ADDITIONAL if wanted.
