UNIQUE OLD JADE FROST ART GLASS APOTHECARY JAR

GORGEOUS and UNUSUAL old Jade frosted with "windows" art glass APOTHECARY / DRUG STORE / PHARMACY SHOW GLOBE / BOUDOIR / CANDY JAR / COMPOTE with LID COVER. This luscious piece of art glass measures 9-1/4" tall to the tip of the finial and stands steadily on a wide 3-1/4" diameter foot. The mouth of the jar measures 4-1/8" diameter. The glass is a beautiful frosted springtime Jade, and is accented with a gold-trimmed WINDOW around the belly of the jar! SO CHARMING! The finial, the one-ball stem and the foot are crystal clear glass. I am unsure of the exact age or glassmaker ... probably American, maybe Italian. My best guess at the age of this jar is 30-50 years old ... Mid Century .. Mid 1900's. We took an interest in these jars as my husband's grandfather was the Dean of Pharmacy at the University of Oklahoma from 1919-1949, and renowned as the longest tenured Dean at the U of Oklahoma. This is NOT his jar, of course! ;-) But, we are sure he would have admired it!

EXCELLENT CONDITION! NO CHIPS! NO CRACKS! The glass is a lovely jade frosted on clear and she just SPARKLES! The frosting is in excellent condition. T is just a little wear to the gold lines, barely noticeable. T are some teensy tiny bubbles completely encased inside the glass, none burst, and bubbles are a common finding in these jars. T are just a few very light, fine scratches...barely t The bottom of the foot shows some shelf wear...she's been sitting and sliding around for a long time! :-) This jar is just STUNNING and DISPLAYS BEAUTIFULLY! A perfect, very retro/dec gift for the collector MOM on Mother's Day! You won't be disappointed, she's a real BEAUTY!
