This Vintage Dedham Pottery Bunny is from The potting shed. Prere- BN-04, Signed HC '88. USA Measures 7.5"T and features the original bow around his neck. His blue accents are just adorable, especially the hand painted flowers on his butt. He is in perfect condition with no nicks, chips or cracks. A great addition to any Dedham pottery collection. Please read below for the history of Dedham Pottery. History The original Dedham Pottery design of bunnies was designed by Alice Morse and Joseph Lindon Smith of the Museum of Fine Arts School, Boston. From 1892 until it closed in 1943, this pattern, a munching bunny eating what some refer to as a brussel sprouts plant, was the company's best seller. Since the mid-70's The Potting Shed of Concord, Massachusetts has been reproducing Dedham as well as their own original designs, all hand finished, hand painted and glazed. Please note that the crackle glaze is not an imperfection, but a technique replicated of the original crackle design that Hugh Robertson, the original owner of Dedham Pottery, perfected.
