is a fantastic Aviators, Aviation, Aeronautical Globe made by Denoyer Geppert! I believe this to date from the 1940's? Heavy base measures about 11 inches across and also bears the manufacturers name on the bottom. Somebody wrote on the bottom side in marker "1925", but again I think it's from the 1940's? I was told these were used to map out bombing raids during World War 2? Globe measures about 51 inches around & stands about 26 inches tall. This has black continents and gray water. I don't believe this is faded Blue, but please be your own judge? T is one small dent, but it's hardly noticeable, some light scratches and some spotty rust spots. All is minimal and does not detract from this awesome piece of Machine Age memoriablia! What a great piece to display in your loft, office, etc. I have made no attempts to clean this, I will leave that to the true collector. It is missing the set screw that holds the globe to the base, but is not an issue for display purposes. Buyer may be responsible for a box large enough to safely ship this (possibly double boxed for added safety), and I recommend shipping the base seperatley, or at least boxed within the main box. Insurance is MANDATORY! This will probably be cheapest and safest shipping DHL. Use the basic dimensions above to calculate an "estimate" at from my zip code of 48097. Weight will be approx 22 pounds. Buyer will wait for final shipping quote from me at auctions end once it is boxed, measured, weighed and quoted. Sold as-is. No returns.
