This is an authentic vintage Descoware skillet, and it is in excellent condition. It was manufactured in Belgium by Descoware (probably around 1970), and it is made of cast iron with a heavy enamel coating. The interior of the skillet is white, and the exterior is a deep yellow that I think the manufacturer called "Antique Gold." Descoware was a highly regarded manufacturer of enamel-coated cast iron cookware and is reputed to have been the manufacturer most favored by chef Julia Child. Descoware was acquired by Le Creuset a number of years ago and incorporated into the Le Creuset lines. I purchased this Descoware skillet from the daugher of the original owner. Unfotunately the wooden handle that should have accompanied this skillet has been lost, but I am hoping an eBay buyer will have kept a handle from a skillet that he or she needs to replace. This Descoware skillet is in excellent condition, and t are no chips, cracks, or other damage. T are a few faint utensil marks on the interior bottom as well as a few areas w the enamel surface appears to have been rubbed; this is consistent with light normal use over the years. Overall the enamel surface is in excellent condition. The winning bidder will pay only for the actual shipping cost plus the cost of insurance coverage which will be required on this item.
