This is the first time I have seen this figurine on eBay. Get it today before it is gone. This Dopey figurine from Snow White andthe Seven Dwarfs was made in circa 1946. There isa “No. 222” marking on the underside of the base of the figurine. In excellent condition, though there is a small chip on the right hand sleeve. (see photo). This was part of the original manufacturing process and not damage to the piece itself. There is another chip on the bottom of his cloak but I have been unable to verify if this was also a manufacturer's defect. In the 1940s, several California potteries including Brayton Laguna, Vernon Kilns, American Pottery/Metlox/Evan K. Shaw and Hagen Renaker were involved in reproducing Disney characters. This continued until about 1960, by which time most ceramic Disney characters were licensed to overseas manufacturers. American Pottery/Evan K. Shaw was one of four major producers of these figurines. The company produced Disney ceramics from 1943 to 1955. As the pottery company is no longer in business, these Snow White and the Seven Dwarf figurines are rare.
