These are 2 very nice pieces of Drescoware that were made by Le Creuset. There is minimal wear, only on the bottom...from normal use and handling...not abused. We have the small skillet and the saucepan. Both measure approximately 7" in diameter. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia DESCOWARE , originally called Bruxelles Ware, was a brand name introduced in 1950 by the D.E. Sanford Co. (DESCo), a successful American importing firm founded in Los Angeles in 1927. Descoware is a brand of porcelain over cast iron cookware that was originally manufactured in France, by Le Creuset, though they did not own the brand. The cookware brand was initially made in one color, Cherry Flame, which is actually a red-orange blended to yellow-orange, the same color as flames. When the French factory balked at adding more colors and making other changes that Sanford requested in 1952, he turned to a Belgium factory, Founderie Emaillerie of St. Trond. Within a year, all Descoware was made in Belgium. What made Descoware popular aside from the many new colors and designs, was that it was made 35 percent lighter weight than other brands of cast iron cookware, so it was easier to lift, yet functions just as well.
