Vintage Dresden Plate Quilt. For your consideration is the most gorgeous quilt I have ever seen, (well one of the most gorgeous; I have several in here that are pretty fab too!). This is called the Dresden Plate with ice cream border and it is hand-stitched. The colors are absolutely wonderful on this quilt. It bears an older looking label: Arch Quilts, Elmsford, N.Y., and I did some preliminary research to see if this company showed up at all on the net, and it did not, though some Arch quilts did show up on other antique sites. I also called Elmsford & Hawthorne N.Y. to see if they are listed, and they are not. This quilt is cotton, and is in good condition; no tears or stains. It is 80 x 76 inches and appears to be from around the 1950-60's?, has a rather compressed feel to it as quilts get when they are washed through the years and age). I would display this one on a quilt rack or at the foot of the bed, it is just too pretty to use, just look at the edges on it! (There is another company, called Arch Associates, same location, which I believe must be a subsidiary of the original company, or a newly incorporated company; however, Arch Associates quilts are made in China, not the USA, and they are no longer listed in Elmford or Hawthorne New York either).
