This is a previously smoked briar tobacco pipe. It has been reamed, cleaned, waxed, buffed and is ready to smoke. This is a Duke of Dundee smooth 1/8 bent apple shape with tapered stem (9MM filter). These pipes were made in NY circa 1949 by Continental Briar Pipe Co, but I won't speculate the date this particular pipe was made because the brand was purchased in 1953 by Henry Leonard & Thomas. The bowl and shank are solid and attractive. The typical small dings are present but hardly noticeable after being waxed and buffed. The stem is original. You'll find very little tooth chatter on the stem or button. Everything buffed out beautifully. Some oxidation remains, though hardly noticeable unless in direct sunlight. It can be smoked without a filter, however, I will include two new Dr Grabow filters for you to try. This pipe has an amazing stain and grain contrast that looks almost marbled, and the stem adds a graceful bent flow. The weight is feather-light so it clenches comfortably. Similar to the Dunhill Airstream and Kaywoodie Carburetor, this pipe sports the "Air Conditioned" valve to regulate air stream. This is a great looking vintage pipe that will make an excellent addition to your weekday rotation.Tobacco Chamber Diameter: Approx 11/16" Bowl Height: Approx 1 9/16" Bowl Widest Girth: Approx 1 3/8" Shank: Approx 1 1/2" Stummel read more
