Vintage early 1930s celluloid vanity box + Powder puff

This listing is for a fine quality 1920s to early 1930s cream colored celluloid vanity box. It was originally used to "receive" hair after a woman brushed her hair 100 times! Included is a un-used vintage powder puff which fits the box well. The item is finely grained celluoid with no cracks, chipping, or stains. It is a solid more expensive vanity piece. It is 2 1/2" tall and 12" around the widest point. It is stamped FRENCH IVORY IMPERIAL BRAND. It is in excellent vintage pre-owned condition. Historical note: this smooth celluloid vanity item replaced the earlier Victorian embossed designs. It was widely believed celluloid would be a cheap relacement for expensive African ivory but it decomposed easily and was soon replaced by bakelite. To find an undamaged piece of cream celluloid is a real find!Please note all the celluloid items for sell are 80 to 90 years old and show some wear and a few scratches.
