The pattern on this Royal Worcester egg coddler is Melrose. It consists of a colorful, ornate pheasant among a series of blue and pink flowers that surround the belly of the coddler. This is an older one-egg coddler consisting of a finely threaded lid, and measuring 3 and a half inches to the top of the lifting ring. The backstamp is green and consists of the words, "Royal Worcester England." The lid is of metal with a round lifting ring and is free of scratches. The body is free of cracks, chips, or crazing.
