I've had this bayonet in my knife collection for a long time and had no idea what it was until I recently found an article on it with pictures of this exact bayonet. The "Hakim" symbol is unmistakable. I did some research and found the following information from an authoritative source:"The Hakim Bayonet or Egyptian Bayonet was a bayonet produced in Egypt that looks very similar to the Swedish Bayonet from 1896.The bayonet was designed for the Hakim rifle and was only produced in Egypt circa 1950. In the late 40's Egypt was looking to develop their own weapons manufacturing capacity, so they purchased Ljungmann production tooling and some M1896 bayonet tooling. The tools were delivered and setup by the Swedes at the Maadi factory. The date seems to be around 1949 to 1950. Hakim means "first born", which is appropriate for Egypt's first home-produced small arm. The Hakim marking looks similar to a mouse. Not sure what it actually represents, but it is rather unique.Since the design of the Hakim bayonet is based on the Swedish M1896 bayonet design, it just so happens that it will also fit on the 1896 Swedish Mauser, if the cleaning rod is removed. The Swede M1896 bayonet however does not mount to the Hakim. The reason for this is the muzzle break doesn't allow the fit."As you can see from the pictures, it's in pretty good shape for read more
