Up for auction is a lovely unusual vintage carryall,approx 1930s,1940s.It is foreign made,by a company called ELMA. The outside is coated in green enamel designed to look like shagreen.This is one of the larger carryalls and is very heavy.Inside is everything a lady could need. The lid opens up to reveal a quality bevel edged mirror,inside is made of goldtone metal and fitted out perfectly.The inside is stamped Elma,Foreign. On the left is a lidded section holding a sunken rouge section with puff and a loose powder section and metal framed sifter.In the middle is a cigarette section with spring loaded clip and a spring loaded lipstick section,lipstick not included as they often were not. To the right is another lidded section,empty for storage with a comb holder under lid,the comb is intact,looks like b in good condition,teeth intact,stamped Foreign. Overall condition is excellent having items intact.The enamel does have scuffs,scratches and odd chips in places.Also slight discolouration in places. Measures just over 6 inches long,just over 4 inches wide,3 /4 of an inch deep.
