Exceptional Vintage Chinese Embroidered Robe You are bidding on an authentic vintage Chinese Qing informal silk robe. It is of bright red color has many appliques throughout. The colorful garment is heavily embroidered with peach blossoms, orchids, cranes, and butterflies. The inside of the robe is fully lined with aqua blue silk. The sleeve bands have a wonderful embroidered Chinese character. The robe measures 56" across the shoulder from sleeve tip to sleeve tip. It measures 38" from the collar down to the back of the bottom hem. T is a faint stain within the inside lining. The inside lining has a slight fade in color. The color of the robe is overall vibrant red with no apparent fade whatsoever. T is a small strip of applique loosening off the robe and must be restitched back in. It is a vintage piece that needs little to no restoration. Overall, the condition of this magnificent robe is in very good condition for its age. The robe is dated Chinese Qing Dynasty, 1890. This garment was appraised by Butterfield and Butterfield, Auctioneers of San Francisco, CA and identified by them as a "Chinese Robe 1890" It was purchased in 1915 in China and has been carefully stored since.
