Rare Vintage Enamelware French Coffee Pot-Biggin-Goose Neck-Complete-5 Piece
Probably circa 1930s as it has a plastic top handle; probably casein or bakelite. 11” tall White with black trim The Biggin was the 1st “modern” drip coffee maker and was developed in the early 1800s, first with a bag of coffee inside that rose as the coffee boiled, then with the metal strainers that this piece has. They used this design from around 1880 through the 1930s. It’s next to impossible to find one complete with the two small strainers that fit inside the top portion. This example is in very good condition; some scratching to the exterior bottom, some rust and chips to the handle, some rust to the 7 holes that go to the spout, the upper portion and its 2 strainers are in excellent to near mint condition, the top has some rust to the rim and a chip inside the inner rim and the plastic top is a bit cloudy from age.Shipping includes insurance.
