I found this #3 Crock at a TRUE Estate Sale recently in E. Texas. The Gentleman's wife passed away, and the three story 110 yr. old home was the site of a Gigantic Estate Sale..This crock was sitting in the corner, and when I purchased it, it was HALF full of OLD Keys that they had collected over their 60 yr. marriage. I did not want the keys, just the Crock. The lid has a few chips, with only one showing from the outside (see pics). The crock itself is in Fantistic condition. The Gentleman told me he had the crock BEFORE he was married: (he is 86 yrs. young). The crock stands 13 1/2" tall and is 9" across at the widest part. On the front it says "HAND TURNED 3 marshall pottery". On the bottom it says, "MARSHALL POTTERY, INC. Marshall, Texas". It is signed in cursive, "Master Potter E.J. Humphries" I did NOT put a reserve on this crock, and am putting a very respectable starting bid. The crock weighs 13 1/2 lbs., with NO scratches, NO nicks, NO cracks, and has two cobalt stripes. Any questions are always welcome ...happy shopping, and thanks for looking...
