This auction is for one FABULOUS vintage cocktail ring. It is absolutely EXQUISITE!
Thisring came from a recent estate sale and is simply BREATHTAKING! Thering is made of solid sterling silver with a fabulous high profile raised setting. The center stone is completely surrounded by small rhinestones in a beadlike filigree setting that also continue down the sides of the band. The setting is very Asscher-like with the squared off corners although the center stone is perfectly square. This ring is almost identical to my grandmother's cocktail ring that I wear when 'stepping out'! Totally '40's in style & high end. The stone is a very high quality rhinestone/synthetic that is sparkling & full of color - can fool the best of them especially with the gorgeous setting! Perfect Vintage Cocktail Style! The ring arrives in a lovely ring box & the ring shown in the picture is the ring you will receive - t's only one! Just a little history about this type of ring! The cocktail ring is meant to be a dramatic large ring, worn at cocktail parties. The cocktail ring was especially popular to wear during US prohibition at illegal cocktail parties. Such a ring flaunted not only the fact that one was drinking illegally, but also that one was doing it with style. The general rule is that the bigger the stone, the better. The cocktail ring is supposed to catch and dazzle the eye. It is also supposed to be opulent and overdone - my personal favorite!
