This is a great sounding and looking amp-and in my mind the great bargain of the post tweed era. This one is marked JE which makes it MAY 1960. It looks to have the era grillcloth similar to the tweeds of the late 50's. Speakers are a matched set of 4 JENSEN P10s all from late 1959. John Nelson down at Vintage Guitars of Hollywood on SUNSEt says that they could very well have been original to the amp if someone had requested them-if not then they are at least period correct and matched. The only things that look to be unoriginal are the replaced handle and the unexplained 2 extra holes drilled on the faceplate (see pic). aside from that this is a great player-and the lower wattage speakers do exactly what you'd want to do to a powerful Concert--they break up nicely around volume 3 to 4--so you don;t need to kill your eyes to hear this baby sing. Chassis S/N is 00903. The Concert has never brought the crazy dollars of the Bassman or Bandmaster of the same year--this one is a great player -and looks super cool too~! very low reserve
