Vintage Fender Mustang Neck...date stamped 15 May 66 B. This and the vibrato I listed separately are the remaining pieces of my Fender Mustang Electric guitar that my mom bought for me new in 1966 from Fullerton Music, just down the street from the Fender plant. An unwise attempt to refinish the guitar in the mid-1970's resulted in the loss of all the pieces except these (Ugh!). The frets and fingerboards are not terribly worn, its straight and the edges front and back do not have any nicks or voids. The finish and decals have obviously been sanded off except for the date stamp. The darkened area near the bottom of the neck on the back is darker, and I recall that this was some motor oil that it came in contact with when it was hidden away in my mom's garage. I did not try and lift or lighten the stain; while someone more skilled than I may be able to do this, I wanted to make sure that potential buyers were aware of it. Other than that, it deserves to go to a good home where a collector can reunite it with parts of the same vintage to make a whole guitar. Buyer is responsible for actual cost of shipping; it will be properly packed and protected. Item sold "as is", and I have described it as thoroughly as I can; please email questions before you bid. Full payment required within 7 days of bid close.
