is I believe another Rare find! This is a Fenton Silver Crest Large Art Glass Bowl with ruffled edge. I did some more research on this piece because I noticed that the white is a bit different then the normal real milky white glass you see, what I found is two things 1st that before 1958 the white was called "opal" which had an opalescence to it when held to the light, in 1958 they had a formula change to milk glass that made the glass like very white without "fire" in the white. Secondly, I found that t were items that dated even further back to 1942 these items had white edging encircling crystal, these were called Crystal Crest. Now on this piece I believe it could be the earlier glass with the fire in it, before they changed their formula as the glass is crystal clear even at the foot (see picture) but then the white encircles it up to the edge giving it a more opaque white color to it. It is absolutely Gorgeous!!! I held this piece up to the light and it also has a "fire" to it but in the reddish opalescent tones. It is very hard to find either types the "opal" glass with fire or the crystal crest, both are extremely hard to find especially these Large Ruffled Bowls and they both date back to the early 1940's. (I have another Large Silver Crest Bowl listed you can take a look at that one and you will see the difference in the color white that I am talking about.) are some measures for you side to side at the top 11 inches across, and app 4 and 1/2 inches in height. This Bowl is in Mint Condition with no chips,cracks,breaks.
