This is what I believe to be a very rare vintage fiberglass SAX FIFTH AVENUE store advertising display sign. It's a very classy looking sign. I believe it dates from around the 1950's. It measures 4 feet 2 inches long (1.27 m). The height varies from 4 1/2 inches to 6 1/2 inches (11.4 cm to 16.5 cm). It is mostly 1 inch thick, but varies up to 4 inches thick (10.2 cm) at its stand.SAKS FIFTH AVENUE opened their first store in 1924. They offered the highest quality men's and women's clothing.I'm not sure where in the store this sign was used. It has two protruding pieces on the back, which allow it to slightly sit up. But since the bottom of these pieces isn't worn, I think they may have displayed it in another manner. There is missing paint on it, approximately 5% of the paint. Most of it is missing along the outer rim sections, most notably the top right side. But there is some missing from the face. However, it seems to blend in with the sign, giving it a great old look.It weighs approximately 9 pounds (4 kg).
