Up for bid is this great find: a quality pair of metal bookends portraying a Victorian woman sitting in a chair. The bookends stand about 7 inches high, and the base is about 5.5 x 4 inches and they measure about 3 inches across in front. They are solid and heavy. The base appears to be granite or some other stone, but I truly don't know. The only signature we could find was PATENT PENDING. The face and the hands appear to be paint over the metal to give it an ivory look; we have not retouched these delightful ladies in anyway~~they are as we found them. One of the faces needs some retouching as far as the paint goes, but that will be up to the buyer. T are some minor scratches along the back of one of the ladies, probably from use. They are in excellent condition with no chips nicks. If any die hard book end collectors knows the maker I would appreciate your input! This is a great opportunity for you to bid on this wonderful piece. All our items are sold as found,so please bid carefully as t no refunds. California residents will be charged sales tax. All measurements are approximate. We PREFER Paypal for payment and we ship priority mail via the USPS.We charge only actual shipping costs and do not charge any handling or shipping supplies fees. Insurance is strongly encouraged as we are not responsible once it leaves our hands. If you have any questions feel free to email us. Thank you! Another ebayer thinks this may be Whistler's Mother and I believe they are correct!
