This vintage figural Noritake salt and pepper set measures approximately 3.5 inches tall and nearly 5.0 inches wide overall. The salt and pepper shakers are egg-shaped with three dimensional faces. I think the condition of the set is very apparent from the photographs, t are no chips or cracks or damages of any kind that I can see. However, as this is a vintage item it may have some signs of wear to the paint . The backstamp on the salt and pepper shakers is "MADE IN JAPAN" in red letters which dates to the 1920s. The backstamp on the tray is "Chikaramachi" with a crown surrounded by a wreath and the words "MADE IN JAPAN" below that, all in green. From my research it seems this mark was in use on porcelain made at the Noritake factory, Chikaramachi branch, during 1928-1946.
