We are offering the last vintage movie film reel from Frank Lloyd Wright's Hillside Theater at Taliesin, Spring Green, Wis. T is NO motion picture film on this reel. it was used during Saturday night screenings of Hollywood films at the famed architect's summer school location at Taliesin. We removed six of these reels from Taliesin in 1996, and this is the last one we have available to sell (sold four and kept one for my personal collection). This would be a perfect addition to your collection of Frank Lloyd Wright memorabilia or a attractive decorative piece for your home theater. This reel was made by Goldberg Bros., Denver, Colo., and is cast rather than stamped like most reels. Reel is approximately 15-inch diameter and 2 inches wide. T is an attractive decorative pattern in the side plates of the reel. This reel is one of six that were used at Taliesin as "house reels" that held the feature films shown at Saturday night gatherings at the school. Film was shipped on reels that tended to be bent and distorted from handling. Film was transferred to these heavy-duty reels for screenings, and then wound back on the shipping reels before they headed out to their next destination. Item is in very good condition; it shows the normal patina of use, but is not bent or distorted in any way.
