2 VINTAGE FIRE KING GREEN JADEITE RESTAURANT OVEN WARE CUP D HANDLE Jadite 1950s I recently acquired a small selection of Fire King Oven Ware Jadeite cups from my grandmothers estate. She was an antique dealer and collector. These Jad-ite pieces were made in the 1950s. I dated the cups using information from A Collector's Guide to Anchor Hocking's Fire-King Glassware, Vol.2 (K & W Collectibles Publishers, 1997). Be careful buying your Fire-King Jadeite as there is a plethora of reproductions for sale. Whether you buy from me or anyone else, do a little research first. Here and here are two good sources of information. Now back to my description. Featuring the D handle, these cups are about 3 5/16" tall, 3 1/4" top diameter, and 2 11/16" bottom diameter. One cup is in good condition, showing some wear with the top half showing a dull finish and the bottom half retaining much of its glossy luster. The other is in very good condition or better, retaining its original shiny finish. Both have OVEN Fire -King WARE MADE IN U.S.A. marked on the bottom, with oven ware and made in U.S.A. in block lettering, and Fire-King in script. Both also have 24 marked on the bottom, indicating they were both cast from the same mould. Both are free from chips, cracks or fractures. A couple flea bites are present.
