Up for auction is probably the coolest thing I have ever listed on ebay.It is a vintage Fire Research Corp. Smithtown N.Y. Pat. Pending Fire Pump Trainer simulator for rookie firefighters in training.This thing is really neat and I'm quite sure is a highly collectible item.It is equipped with guages,knobs,buttons,levers, switches etc.Plugs into a normal household receptacle.I have never seen anything like it.Guages,red and green lights work,and as far as I can tell from someone who knows nothing about this type of equipment most if not everything works.I have no idea how to use this simulator.There is a piece with a leather strap that comes out for fireman to hold in hand and operate.Both leather carrying straps on trunk are gone.Trunk has some issues due to age and storage.Buckles work and it appears that everything is there with the exception of the leather carrying handles.The lid has to be propped up but I can't see where there was ever a catch or some sort of stop to keep the lid from dropping back.It's possible that there is not supposed to be a catch or stop for lid.There is all types of instructional placards and it is made to look like a real fire truck pump.I have no idea how old this simulator is or what year,model or make of fire truck it is patterned for.It also comes with extra,what appears to be switchboard wires.One wire is missing plug on one end.Due to its rarity and possible value I plan to have it professionally packed by the local UPS store in my home town.If winner of this auction prefers to pay the UPS store directly for shipping then that is fine with me.I can easily send an invoice without shipping costs.This is a great collectible piece of firefighter memoribilia.thanks and
