PERFECT FOR BRINGING ALONG TO YOUR QUILTING CLASS OR RETREAT!! A vintage 1940's folding iron that is in very close to mint, as purchased condition. This fits beautifully in a Featherweight case - easy to take along to your quilting bee or class. The cord is in super nice condition as is the receptacle plug. This particular style of folding iron has the most positive locking system of all the vintage folding irons I have seen. This allows the iron to SAFELY stand on its base as shown in several of the pictures. No tipping over! Others I have had/seen have very insecure & therefore unsafe locking systems - this is a very well built iron & is heavily chromed. Very rarely does one of these show up in this nice condition (most have many scratches/rust/bad cord) - as stated this is in very nice condition all around with only a few minor scuffs on the bottom - It heats up quickly & retains heat for quite some time - I have personally used it to iron with and it works perfectly! I would recommend sewing up a cloth "pouch" to hold the iron when placing it alongside your Featherweight in the case - this protects both the iron & your prized machine from getting scratched.Shown in pictures with a 1946 Singer Featherweight (Featherweight not included in this listing) to help indicate the condition of the finish on the bottom of the iron.
