is a Foley Food Mill # 101. I do not know how old it is. According to an advertisement I found for Foley food mills dated 1948, this is the Household Size. "A potato ricer, vegetable masher, fruit strainer. Wizard-like, it slashes minutes from meal making! For family foods, for baby foods, for canning. 24-gauge steel, tin coated. Capacity 2 quarts." The price in 1948 was 1.89. The Foley Manufacturing Co. of Minneapolis , MN was founded in 1926. Their first kitchen product was the food mill licensed in 1933. However, I am positive this one is not that old. It is hard to date as the Foley-Martens Co. still makes food mills to this day. I estimate this one is probably from the fifties. It is a 2 quart size. It measures 7 ¼ inches across and 12 ½ inches long including the handle. It has two hooks on the bottom to hold it to a bowl. It is in perfect working order. No dents, one very small ding and some scratches but no rust. It has lost much of it's original shine. It is not stainless steel; I believe it to be the 24 gauge steel from the advertisement. If anyone has any information on determining the date of a Foley food mill I would be interested in hearing from you. I try my best to describe items as accurately as possible. If you would like more info or pictures please let me know. I would be happy to oblige. And if for any reason
