Excellent vintage condition winter scene bark cloth, perfect for a mountain cabin, condo or lake house. Heavy barkcloth with nice heft for curtains, drapes, bolsters, pillows or chair backs. Selvedge is stamped "Guaranteed to be Vat Prints." We estimate age to be 1930s or 1940s. Colors are rich and true - cream/ivory background with spruce green, warm red, brown, yellow, deeper yellow-brown (almost ochre), and pretty blue-green. Auction is for five curtain/drape bark cloth panels plus one tall barkcloth hamper cover which could be made into a round throw pillow with fabric left over to make another pillow. Vintage winter scene reminiscent of Grandma Moses. Church with tall spire is at the center of a village. Snow cloaks the houses, community hall, log buildings and barn. Man on a horse-drawn sled or sledge complete this serene vignette. . are the panel measurements (length by width): 35 inches by 33 inches; 35 inches by 31 inches; 35 inches by 34 inches; 35 inches by 34 inches; 35 inches by 19 inches. The five panels appear to have been part of a drapery set. A couple of the panels have casing at top of panel (casing is not part of the measurement - measurements are for fabric only.)
