I present to you another cute vintage find from a local antique store. A perfectly lovely little place with so many wonderful things and lots of places, upstairs and down, to browse through. I found this darling little wooden footstool in an upstairs room--it had been painted black and decoupaged with strawberries-- GINGER & HUBBY TO THE RESCUE!! Hubby's mission was to sand off the old paint and clean it up so that I could apply a new painting--a cute fat and sassy raccoon sits on a stump checking out a perky little Carolina Wren who sits nearby on a branch and is checking him out right back!! Both of the bottom sides have been decorated with swirls of leaves and a small bunch of cheerful daisies in the center. Hard to tell the actual age of this little treasure-- but it's a sturdy little stool, possibly handmade and probably made from pine. I left the background natural. The size of the little stool top is 13" x 5 1/2" and it stands about 7" high.

The painting is acrylics and a coat of high gloss polyurethane will be applied to protect from dirt and scratches. (Ohhhh dear--I do hope you won't actually put your feet on it... ;o( )

Wouldn't they just make a wonderful addition to your raccoon or Carolina wren collection and brighten up your home with a unique piece of art? How can you resist those darling little faces???
