INCREDIBLE VICTORIAN HAND BEADED AND SEQUINED FLORAL COMPOSITION TAPESTRY !!! This is one of a kind. The craftsmanship and detailing is mind biggling. All of the floral work is symmetrical and solid glass beading done by hand. T are sequins topped with beads, but mainly in the outer limits of the piece. You have to see this in person to appreciate the work and time that must have gone into this. Pieces like this were popular in the Victorian Era and this may date to that time, but I cannot tell and have no markings. Considering the condition of the material that this is on, it might be newer because I see no breakdown in the fabric at all. The golden fabric background looks to be a cross grain or moire. Beads are high end and irredescent glass- no cheap beads ! I see this hanging in a home with lots of European antiques and needlework. This has a French appeal- at any rate, it looks very expensive and is quite extraordinary. 18 1/2" x 18" professionally framed. Frame has a couple of tiny knicks or paint loss, but being an artist, I can fix that if you desire. Frame has a beautiful silver luster inside of ebony black. Beading consists of metallics, irridescents, seed beads, bugles, pearls and are in colors of white, silver, red, yellow, aqua, turquoise, royal and deep blue, pinks, reds, black, bronze, gunmetal, gold.
