This vintage trivet or tea tile is part of the early El Patio line, made by Gladding McBean in the 1930's. The color is called Flame Orange. It measures 5 inches in diameter, and is in good condition - no chips cracks or crazing. It is marked on the bottom with the GMB stamp. This piece is pictured in a different color, on page 84 of the book Franciscan, Catalina and other Gladding McBean Wares , by James Elliott-Bishop. It is also pictured in the El Patio section of old Franciscan Ware book by Delleen Enge, which I also have up for auction this week.
