What a great piece - and if I had the know how , I would remove the lamp parts and make this into a glorious statue . Originally made in France , this Auguste Moreau lamp base is a later copy of one of the master's signature pieces . Made in spelter - or pot metal - and beautifully hand painted in matt gold and cream . The statue sits on a decorative metal base with a frieze of gold highlighted decroation . She stands with a rake by her feet and looks to her side . Flowers are in her apron and t is corn by her feet . Her skin is painted a pale cream with a blush to her cheeks . The whole piece is well defined and proportioned . T is a factory mark at the back which reads " Fabrication francais - Paris . Made in France . " and t is a Moreau signature by the foundry disc . The statue and base are two parts with a metal rod attached to the back of the figure . A hole at the base for the cord . All electrical wiring has been removed . Green felt under base . Only minor chipping to paint and paint loss w the two metal pieces meet - base and figure . A stunning large lamp at a total of 26" tall , base to top of rod . NO reserve.
