An early 20th. century spirit lamp, as shown. 15cm. high. Plated brass with one clear lens and one red - the larger of the two, which also swings open. The ceramic wick holder is present and intact, as is the wick adjuster and reservoir. Age related deterioration to plating - mainly to top cover - not awful - and considering age, really in very good condition. There is a number - 315 - and some letters, not very clear, on the mounting bracket. The bracket clamp screw is missing. Discovered in Chateaulin (Brittany). This lamp has been left in the condition in which it was found and will, without doubt, benifit from thorough cleaning.
