A quality French Horn by the famous Josef Lidl. est 1893.Probably c.1930's (?) pre-war (before the country was occupied by you know who). Double compensating horn with four lever-linkage, rotary-valves, all working. Minor cosmetic 'dings' that will not affect playing. Complete with a 'Paxman 4B' mouth piece(costs £50 new) and the original case which is a bit tatty, but quite serviceable. All complete with all its parts apparently intact. Please consult photos for details and ask if further specific info is needed before bidding. I am not an expert, but can probably help.Playable now, but will need some valve lubrication (oil) and routine cleaning/maintenance. Stamped with serial number and 'Made in Czechoslovakia' on mouth tube. Bell diameter 300mm.This quality of instrument would be ideal for an improving novice or intermediate student, however please consult with your tutor before bidding. As a rough guide new French Horns of this quality will cost around 1000 pounds.Weighs 5.5 kg in its case. Thanks to a long-time ebayer French Horn teacher who mailed me and suggests this instrument may be a Lidl model '33' dating from c.1960(?) Josef Lidl has some historical info on their website, but its all in Czech and difficult to understand precisely.Europe postage 50GBP. No agents/couriers or collection in person please.
