Exceptional Vintage French Pure Linen Fil Sheet 7.5 foot x 11 foot This is one of the Fabulous Collection range ofsheets from Faded-Grandeur!! Exceptional quality antique sheets made from French linen 'fil' or very high quality linen using the longest and best strands. They will be fluid and supple and 'heavy in the hand' as good linen should be. Some are monogrammed, others embroidered, but all the very highest quality craftsmanship, and getting rarer to find each year. This fabulous antique French dowry or marriage sheet is made from smooth French linen fil, and is cool to the touch as quality linen should be. It has a large ladderwork hem and above it, across the whole width of the sheet, are beautifully embroidered foliage and flower buds. This sheet is beautiful enough with the flower embroidery, but it also has a giant monogram! The initials JP are very raised and detailed with plenty of decoration. They also have a trailing flower through the letters, which looks to be Lily of the Valley. This is experienced, excellent needlework on a very high quality and extra huge sheet! This would be fabulous on a King Size bed! This gorgeous item will be sent for FREE via expedited shipping with tracking and insurance. 4 days to Europe, 8 days to the rest of the world!! Colour: Snowy whiteDimensions of sheet: Width 92" or 232cm by Length 132" or 335cm 7 and a half foot, by 11 foot!! Dimensions of monogram: 10" x 8" or 25cm x 20cm Dimensions of embroidered flowers above hem: 3.5" wide or 9cm Condition: Excellent, one tiny faint dot by the monogram - do see the photo As with all my linens this sheet is freshly washed, so ready to use. This sheet would have been part of the bride's 'trousseau' or dowry linen with both the bride and groom's initials embroidered onto the linen. Some of the trousseau the bride would have made herself, others would have been given as wedding presents. From a smoke free household Do visit my shop for more French finds and patchwork quilts! Most of the items that I list will be vintage or used, so may show signs of their previous history, which is the whole charm of these pre-loved items. If you are looking for a pristine, unused item, then my finds are probably not for you. I do my best to describe their condition accurately. Generally I find that these items have been cherished possessions at a time when people did not live in such a throwaway society, so they made things to last, and took care of them.
