VINTAGE GAS OIL CART WITH PUMP BOWSER STANDARD UNION You are bidding on a large wheel gasoline/oil dispensing cart with pump. This is a large piece of early petro history. The condition is very good for its age. Heavy gauge steel. No large dents. No major rust. T is surface rust on the inside bottom, but nothing that goes through to the bottom. The bottom feels very solid. From California. It has been stored for many years with no plug in the bottom. The pump may or may not work, but the handle turns freely. Has been painted many times over the years - past colors have been red, white, blue and orange. Original color looks to be white or orange. Size: Overall size is 41 inches front to back; 29 inches side to side (wheel to wheel). Height is 66 inches with pump, 34 inches without. The size of the oil/fuel box is 19 inches by 28 inches by 24 inches tall. The 2 side wheels are all steel and 29 inches tall. It looks like one of the last logos that was on t was mid-40's Standard's Supreme Gasoline (California) with the Ethyl logo in the center (see photo). Under that logo and on the backside (which you cannot see in the pictures), it looks like t was a Union shield logo, which could explain the orange paint. From reseach on the internet, this appears that it was made by Bowser and was used to transport gasoline directly to equipment, cars or planes that you could not take to the station for a fill up (i.e. tractors, planes, etc.) I have had this item for a while and always meant to restore it, but I have just run out of space for all my projects. Would prefer local pick-up in the Los Angeles area, but I'm sure I could put it on a pallet and ship it by truck (winner pays any and all shipping and supply costs). If you have any questions please feel free to ask. If you win the auction but are only interested in parts (wheels, pump), I can take these off and ship only these.
