We have for your viewing and bidding pleasure a vintage electric fan.It has 4 brass blades and a brass wire cage.In the center of the cage in a round 2 1/4" brass button it has the initials GE in fancy embossed letters(GE stands for General Electric). The brass blades are 5 1/2" long by 2 15/16" wide at the widest part and slightly curved. The wire cage is 13 1/4" across and 2 1/8" wide. The back part of the cage is 3/16" thick and the brass wire cage is supported by 3-1/2" wide flat brass metal braces. They are attached to the head by brass screws. On the top of the head is a brass tag which has on it ALTERNATING CURRENT FAN MOTOR NO. 996272 CAT. 34017 TYPE A-P FORM P1 VOLTS 110 CYCLES 60 GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., U.S.A..On the back of the fan head t is a brass button with the GE logo embossed on it.The electric motor head sets on a heavy metal frame work attached by 2 large brass screws, one on each side. The head tilts up and down by loosening 2 thumb screws, one on the side and one at the lower bottom. The fan base is 6 3/4" across and sets on rubber padding. The switch plate is made of brass and has the settings with the words OFF HIGH MEDIUM LOW.We plugged the fan in and it works smooth on all 3 speeds. The cord is in good useable condition but has been retaped in some areas.Mainly from the head going down to the switch area and alittle bit of the cord coming out from the base.We believe this to be a replacement cord. From the bottom of the base to the top of the cage it stands 16" high. The fan overall condition is great.Neat item to set around for a nostalgic statement or even to use if so desired. From what we can determine the fan does not rotate back and forth. We are listing this highly collectible vintage brass bladed brass caged fan at a no reserve selling price. So,thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
