Waffle Baker & Grill

Model A2G48S...120 volts...900 watts

*** MADE IN U SA ***

In excellent used vintage condition, I'm fairly certain this one dates to the 1960s or 70s. Made by GE in Bridgeport, Connecticut, U SA , back when they were still making high-quality products like these in America, and not outsourcing everything overseas. This quality full-size waffle baker & grill works great and looks retro cool, too. Apart from some of the usual surface scratches on top from use and cleanng you'd expect from a used appliance of this age, the heavy chrome is mirror-like . The plastic stay-cool handles, feet and knobs are in nice shape, too, with no damage that I can find.

What a useful appliance it is, too. Not only does it make traditional-depth waffles on it's large cooking surface that's 9" x 9" but the teflon-coated nonstick plates also easily remove and flip over so you can use the smooth griddle side for grilling/frying just about anything: sandwiches, eggs, meats , etc. And what's even better, you can open it up flat and use both griddles at once ! You could cook the sausage and bacon on one, while cooking eggs on the other! The open griddle could also be used to keep casseroles, chili, cheese dips, etc. hot while not tying up the stove-top. By the way, the cooking grids are made of thick solid cast aluminum , for quick and even heating, and the teflon coating is in absolutely fantastic shape!

Whoever came up with the idea of removable plates for waffle irons was a genius! After it cools, you can easily take the grids out for cleaning. Which, again, is much easier with the nonstick coating.

The dial control on the front has settings for Low , Med , & High , plus t's also a Waffles setting. And it also turns Off , without needing to unplug it from the outlet. Has a light that comes on as soon as you turn it on, to let you know it's pre-heating. Once it goes out, you're ready to pour the batter. When the light goes out the second time, check your waffles to see if they're the way you like 'em!

The cord is a nice and pliable v inyl heater cord in excellent condition, as is the standard 2-prong plug. I gave the waffle baker a good cleaning and polishing, but I'm sure I didn't get everything. But it looks great in my opinion, and it's ready to make many more fantastic waffles, sandwiches, or whatever you like. Simply an excellent retro appliance, I don't think you'll be disappointed. :)

a perfect gift for the vintage appliance lover!
