I have a limited knowledge of radios, but I believe this is considered a cathedral style tube shortwave radio which carries the General Television name. Label on back lists it as a Model AC, C.R. & T.C. Chicago, licensed by Radio Corporation of America, General Electric Co., Westinghouse Electric Co. and Associated Companies. Patented by Hazeltine Corporation for use in homes. Front dial is marked Climax at top, Shortwave at bottom and has 2 areas marked Police on it which seemed unusual to me, but I don't know radios. Case is 14" high X 9 ¾" wide X 6 5/8 " deep. Wood case appears in very nice condition with just a few small edging chips or dings and they look like they were touched up. Two of the three tuning knobs are missing, but they look pretty basic and I believe they can be replaced. I turned the radio on and it produced humming but did not play. T are 4 radio tubes visible from the back and 3 of the 4 lit up, the 4 th did not. Replacement of this tube which is marked , Philco 80, may be all that is needed to get it back in operation, but I can't say for sure. T is a small bulb for lighting up the tuning dial that is visible from the back and this does work. T are 2 wires in rear not connected which look like external antenna wires, but not sure. Cord is gray and does not look period, so it was probably replaced. I could find
