WONDERFUL VINTAGE HAND PAINTED GENIE CERAMICS 1952 "KIPPY" WALL POCKET UP FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION, WE ARE OFFERING THIS REALLY "RARE" HAND PAINTED VINTAGE WALL POCKET WITH A KIPPY sometimes spelled KIPPEE. Kippy is shown here playing a musical instrument while perched in front of a music G-Cleft as a wall pocket. "Kippy" always appears as an extremely cheerful, happy-go-lucky character. He is generally dressed in a combination of yellow and green clothing and his hat has a feather sticking upright on top. "Kippy" almost always seems to be shown with something musical. Kippy products can be found with labels indicating company to be in Lynwood, California, while others are marked Pasadena, CA .. . The most common Kippy found on the market today is the single Kippy sitting or laying down, the larger pieces have been acquired by ceramic collectors and are not on the market today. This Kippy wall pocket measures approximately 7 1/4" tall x 5" wide. It is believed the Company moved production to Asia in the 1970's.
