Vintage Genuine Pennsylvania Railroad Safety First Advertising Sign (NR) DESCRIPTION This is a vintage, authentic, safety advertising sign marked with the distinctive keystone and intertwined "PRR" logo of the Pennsylvania Railroad. The sign is made of tin sheet metal embossed with the Pennsy logo and the "SAFETY FIRST" slogan and is painted in the railroad's signature colors of red and white. The sign maker's information is PAINTED at the bottom right hand side and reads: "SCIOTO SIGN, KENTON, O.". The square sign measures 18 " on each side . T are four pre-drilled holes, one in each corner, for mounting the sign. The Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR) was founded in 1846 and was headquartered in Philadelphia . The PRR was the largest railroad by traffic and revenue in the US throughout its 20 th century existence, and it was, at one time, the largest publicly traded corporation in the world. At its peak, the PRR controlled about 10,000 miles of track. The PRR Corporation still holds the record for the longest continuous dividend history; it paid out annual dividends to shareholders for more than 100 years in a row.
