Vintage Geoffrey Beene Black Satin Dress

This is a stunning vintage evening dress by American designer Geoffrey Beene. He has been called a 'designer's designer' and is known for his fluid use of fabric; calling his clothing 'liquid geometry.' He launched Geoffrey Beene Inc in 1963 and was the first American to show in Milan in 1976. This dress is in very excellent clean condition and is made of a satin that may be silk. (There is no material content label). The dress has ruffled collar and cuffs and fastens in the front with hidden snaps. There is a matching sash belt with bow and the skirt is semi full. This dress is very well made and being classic black, it is very easy to wear today. It is size small 36-26-full.
