VINTAGE GERMAN COMPASS

This Vintage German Compass up for auction dates back to the 1940's or older. It is metal, has a cover, sights and locks. It could have been used for Military Navagation or surveying. The compass measures 4" by 3 1/4" and 3" high with sights up and 1" high with cover on and sights down. On the bottom right hand corner is a plaque that reads "Paul Emmert Berlin-Steglitz". On the left hand bottom is a dial to lock the compass needle. On the top edge of the compass is a ruler that measures in millimeter/centimeter format Around the compass dial are degree measuring numbers. The cover snaps over the dial and the sights on each side fold down. The sights are labeled "N" and "S". The compass is in very good condition for its age and shows signs of wear/usage.
