Up for bids are a set of very unusual and in my opinion, wonderful, German sewing kit dolls. They are in unbelievable condition for their age. I see only the slightest amount of paint wear, no scratches, chips, repairs or crazing. The worst is the darkened spot on top of the blue dolls basket handle and this is clearly shown in the pictures.Even the pin cushions are in great shape and each has it's own distinct design on it. I got these from a gentleman, who appeared to be in his late seventies. He said that they had been his parents, so I know they are very old but not certain of exact age. He showed me how you take them apart and then you can store your thread and needles inside them, as well as use the thimble that serves as the collar around their necks. I am fairly certain they were made to be nodders, but am not an expert by any means. You, most likely, have much more knowledge about this and should be the judge. The blue one nods perfectly, when given a tap. The orange one moves but not as well. They are both marked Germany on the bottom and appear to be made of porcelain or china, I don't know which. These stand four inches tall and are almost three inches wide. Please feel free to ask any questions or if you have information on them, I would love to hear it. Not responsible for uninsured items. I leave feedback after receiving same, this way I know all went well with the auction. Shipping charges include a small handling fee as well as delivery confirmation. Any problems, please let me know.
