This vintage "Chromonica" is a harmonica made by M Hohner with a slide to produce sharps and flats. My aunt who passed away last year in 2007 at the age of 93, had this in her attic. She had not been up in her attic since her stroke in the 70's. I believe it was her father-in-laws from her first marriage in 1932. The harmonica has on the front: The "Chromonica", (chromatic harmonica), made by M Hohner Germany C, and the numbers 1-10. The back has: in the middle-two hands holding a circle with a star in it and the words gesetzl and geschutzt and the words trade mark above this and made by M. Hohner Germany below it.To the left are four circles-2 with pictures and the words: D. Verdiensie, Wien, and 1873, 1-ULM, and 1-1871. To the right are four circles-2 with pictures and the words: GR. Bronce, Philad., and 1876, 1-Stuttgart, and 1-1881. The harmonica sounds great and all chambers produce sounds. The box has on the top: "Chromonica", (chromatic harmonica), The First and Only Harmonica , Providing Sharps and Flats, Made by M. Hohner Germany. The bottom of the box has four stickers, one stating Grand Prix Philadelphia 1926. The box is worn and has a piece of the side missing, which is visible in my picture. I would consider this item to be in good condition for it's age and it is being sold "as is". I have described this item to read more
