Up for a LOW STARTING *** NO RESERVE auction is a solid oak GERSTNER machinists' tool chest in near mint condition. Purchased new in 1952, offered by the original owners estate. SUPER CLEAN! This quality chest is in exceptional condition. I was amazed to find the original sales receipt folded inside the chest. Purchased 12/10/52 Gerstner Oak Tool Chest # 052 @ $44.00, he paid cash and received a 2% discount! Receipt is made out to the original owner and oil company w he worked. Chest comes with two keys (as meticulous as the owner was I am sure they are original) a blue cover 11th edition (1943) MACHINERY'S HANDBOOK. Also included is a gray plyable rubber like protector cover with the GERSTNER logo on both sides. The cover looks like some of the stitching has been re-done and has a few areas of loose stitches. Cover has a few light stains, is sturdy and intact, no rips or tears. The large Machinery's Handbook has the owners name stamped inside the front, book is in excellent condition. Silver tone hardware and latches are nice and shiny. Each latch is marked Gerstner. Interior bottom of the case is marked with an ink stamp: BUILT BY H.
