This is a Vintage Gerz German Stein. It is ceramic with picture etchings of Men leaving an Inn in the middle of the night (I believe they are going hunting). T is also a picture of a lady looking sad.The moon is a quarter moon with a bit of gold over it. The Men are also carrying umbrellas. It does have areas along the top that had gold paint, but some has worn down(see pics). The top has "Zum Wohl!" written on top and the lid is ceramic with a pewter hinge. The bottom has the early Gerz mark as well as the number 1217. The lid does have a crack on the pewter part (see pics), but the crack does not really show on the underside when you open the lid (see pics). Near the hinge on the underside of the top (0.8 L) is etched in. The hinge is not tight tight but it is not real loose either. The coloring is beautiful on the pictures. The handle does have some whitish blue areas like a glaze and I have included pictures of that. I am not sure what it is and as I am not an expert in these types of items. I will let the new owner take care if that. Insurance is strongly advised on this piece. Because of the weight shipping will be priority and at the flat rate.
